About Grandmas Magick

My mother started Grandmas Magick Years ago. She would make little girls crowns, wands, headbands & fairy out fits. We would take them to craft shows and flea markets. I think she did it so her kids and grand kids would hang out with her because she gave me all the money we made. When she passed away so did Grandmas Magick. We are trying to get that magic back that she use to have. So we are making ceramics mugs, fantasy scenes, planters, vases, wall hangings, animals, urns and bird houses instead of the little girl fantasy wear. I have a great imagination and love Si-FY and fantasy. That is why I can come up with the Dragons & Wizards Small Worlds fantasy scenes. I grab a piece of clay & it tells me what to make out of it. After the piece is created I have to let it dry & sometimes this process can take a few days. It depends on the size of the item. Once it is dry then it gets fired in the kiln. Once that step is done we can proceed to glazing the item, we have over one thousand different glazes. Once gazed we fire it again & then the fun really begins when we take them out & we see all the cool things the glazes have done. You never know exactly what the glazes are going to do each time. Once the pieces are cool my wife (Lelah) takes the pictures & she posts the items on Etsy. I try to let the clay do its own thing and keep an organic look. I also try to put a little humor in my work, hence the cat head bird houses. etsy.com/shop/grandmasmagick www.facebook.com/grandmasmagick View all posts by Grandmas Magick
